Dr. David Oxman

David Oxman is a physician, writer, teacher and healthcare activist.  

He is a critical care physician at Thomas Jefferson University and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Sidney Kimmel Medical College in Philadelphia. , he takes pride in caring for critically ill patients and guiding their families through some of the most challenging moments of their lives. He has also been a leader in improving the quality and safety of patient care across hospital systems. 

In his writing, Dave has brought attention to issues such as gun violence, the opioid epidemic, medical misinformation, and our outdated health insurance system. He spoke out early and forcefully against RFK Jr’s appointment to head the Department of Health and Human Services and Trump’s cuts to science funding and Medicaid.

His writing has appeared in The Philadelphia Citizen, The Hill, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Journal of the American Medical Association, and Medpage Today.
